My Memory of Ernie Ashworth
There is much to be said, but no one can dispute Ernie's love of Country Music and his love of his fellow man. It was displayed by the way he lived. I remember the first time that I was backstage at the Opry, it was a result of being invited by Ernie as a guest, what a thrilling night that was! I remember a few years back that I was honored to record a duet with Ernie. It was the first duet that I had ever recorded. I remember being in the studio, shaking in my cowgirl boots! There I was, Rustie Blue, singing with a Grand Ole Opry Legend! What an honor and and thrill that was! The song title was "Talk of The Town". I know that I am not the only duet partner that Ernie had, I know quite a few. It was Ernie's way of helping with other careers and showing his love of the music. I met his wife Bettye, they are back together now and will be sadly missed by many. My prayers are with Ernie and his wife Bettye. My prayers are with the family as they deal with their loss. The world will not be the same without them. My sincere thanks to Ernie and Bettye for sharing their life with me. Once again YOU are "The Talk Of The Town"
